Our ebooks are delivered automatically and immediately upon purchase by an email from BookFunnel. If you can’t find the email with your book download in your inbox, here are some tips:
- Check your spam/junk box. Sometimes overzealous spam filters get in the way and deliver the email there instead of your inbox. If you have Gmail, check your Promotions folder.
- If the email address you used at checkout is different from the email address you normally use, the book will be delivered to the email address you used at checkout.

What devices can I use to read the ebooks?
The BookFunnel App and BookFunnel Cloud Reader – Supported Devices
When you receive a book from us, you can read it in the BookFunnel App or in our browser-based cloud reader.
The BookFunnel App
You can use the BookFunnel App to read or listen to your BookFunnel ebooks and audiobooks.
The BookFunnel App can be installed on these mobile devices:
- iOS 11+ (2017) Most iPads and iPhones released since 2013 were updated to iOS 11 and can install the BookFunnel App. iPod Touches that were updated to iOS 11 can also install the app.
- Android 5.1+ (2013) Android devices running at least Android 5.1 can install the BookFunnel App from the Google Play Store.
- Amazon Fire Tablet 5th Gen+ (2015) All Amazon Fire Tablets released since 2015 (and most 2014 4th Gen tablets too) can install the BookFunnel App.
- NOOK Tablet (2016) NOOK tablets released since 2016 can download the BookFunnel App from the Google Play Store.
The BookFunnel App cannot be installed on any e-ink reading device, including Kindle Paperwhite, Touch, Voyage, NOOK Glowlight, Kobo e-reader, etc.

The BookFunnel Cloud Reader is a cross-platform, browser-based ebook reader and audiobook player. It requires an internet connection to stream the content and does not use any storage space on your device.

The BookFunnel Cloud Reader is supported on these devices:
- PC, Mac, and Unix Computers Our cross-platform cloud reader works on all modern computer browsers. Most older operating systems are also supported when using the latest (supported) version of Chrome or Firefox.
- iOS 10+ (2016) Most iPads and iPhones released since 2012 were updated to iOS 10 and can access the BookFunnel Cloud Reader. iPod Touches that were updated to iOS 10 can also access the reader.

Most of our ebooks are available on Amazon, Kobo, and other retailers. Buying the ebooks there would be the easiest way to access them on your e-ink devices – although you would miss out on future updates and revisions.

If I buy a print book, how long does it take to get to me?
It depends which country you're in, and which shipping option you choose at checkout. It won't be 'next day shipping' though!
Each book is printed and sent to you specifically from the independent printer I use in the UK (although they are looking at options to print in the US, Australia and in other countries.)
It can take 10-15 working days to reach you outside the UK.

Why would I buy a paperback from you when I can get it on one of the big online stores with free shipping?
Great question!
There is no way I can compete with the big online stores, so basically, you are supporting me as an independent author, and also my independent printer, which is much appreciated!
The books are available in our store during the cheaper subscription price period, and thus up to 3 months ahead of everywhere else.
Some items will only ever be available in this store. Our merchandise and special editions (signed or not) are not sold anywhere else.

Journal Refills: Why is the page count limited?
Our journal refills use staple binding, making them perfect as inserts for refillable leather notebooks and easy to slip into any bag. While this binding method caps the page count, we maximize the number of pages possible.

Are the four journals in each Basic Set identical?
Not quite! While the basic layout stays the same, each journal features unique Little Hunterman illustrations and quotes. These variations are exclusively available in the Basic Bundles, giving you extra variety and more of Little Hunterman's fun and doggie wisdom.
Why do the covers look aged? Are these used journals?
Not at all! Only the covers feature an intentionally gentle, vintage-inspired finish while the inside pages are crisp and new. We designed the covers this way to overcome the "too perfect to use" barrier that many people experience with new journals. This subtle aged appearance invites you to start using your journal right away without worrying about keeping it pristine.
It takes a lot of potential anxiety off your shoulders.

Do discount codes also apply to premium titles?
Yes, they do. :)
Why are premium titles more expensive to ship than standard titles?
Premium titles not only come in a larger format (7in x 10in) than the standard titles (5.5in x 8.5in), they are also made of much heavier coated white paper.
Shipping costs relate to size and weight.

Can I choose the drawing for my Treasure Hunt myself?
While you can pick the size of the drawing, the drawing itself is going to be a surprise item.
We packed them all beforehand and sealed the little envelopes with a tiny wee-sticker. No one knows what is hidden inside.
Think of it as a tombola with a guaranteed win.
Or think of it as a little surprise treasure hunt.
What if I want to choose an original drawing myself?
Starting later this year, Flynn will be picking a few artworks every month that we will be selling directly.

Why should I consider pre-ordering?
We sell "direct first". That means that every title will be available in this store months before it will be made available anywhere else. Some items, like merchandise or even some books, will only be available here.
In Germany, where we are, most of the books are required to follow fixed pricing laws. Therefore shops cannot give individual discounts on books.
What we can do, is offer a reduced subscription price for subscribers ahead of the official publication.
So if you buy a pre-order and subscribe to receive offers, then you'll get the ebook not only way ahead of time, but also with an officially reduced price.
This way, you win TWICE!

Are the Little Hunterman books age appropriate?
Dog-friendly people of all ages enjoy them – from middle grade kids to their grandparents.
The stories are free from profanity, sexual content, and extreme violence so that they are family friendly. But it might require some life experience to properly appreciate all of the funny bits.
In the signed books, is this really Hunter's paw print?
Hunter's paw prints have a special story:
While his distinctive three-toed paw was unique, his bushy terrier paws made direct printing quite a messy affair. Once we finally got a perfect print, we had a stamp made – and from then on he preferred to supervise the clean stamping process rather than getting his own paws dirty.
During his final days, we created many books with paw prints together. These signed copies were thus made directly under his supervision. Should these books run out and I decide to continue using his paw print, there will be a clear distinction: all future prints will be marked as "posthumous paw print" to ensure absolute transparency between books stamped under Hunter's supervision and those stamped after.
All books will, of course, continue to be personally signed by me, the human author.

Will I have to pay import fees & tariffs?

How is shipment calculated? Where do the books ship from?
Print and shipping times and costs may vary depending on your location. We selectively use print-on-demand services to minimize shipping times and costs, reduce our books' carbon footprint, and provide work for additional independent printers. Bespoke titles that cannot be printed everywhere will be shipped from England or Germany, while all signed copies will be dispatched from Germany.
Shipping is automatically calculated at checkout, based on the weight of each item and your location.

How do I track my order?

Where can I see my order status?
You will find your order history and status in your customer account.
How do I log into my customar account?
When you enter your email address, you will receive an email with a one-time, 6-digit code that you will need to enter to log in. No additional password is required
Help, my customer profile is empty!
If you log in with an email address that’s not associated with an existing customer profile, then a new customer profile is created automatically.
So, if you have previously bought something from us and now find your profile empty, please double-check the email you used to log in.
How do I update my personal data (name, address, …)
You can update your data by logging into your account from our storefront.
Steps:
- Navigate to hunterlassal.com and then click the login button (an icon showing the silhouette of a person on the top right next to the cart icon.)
- Enter your email address.
- You will receive an email with an one-time login code. Enter the code to access your account page. (No password necessary.)
- In your account page, click on your initials in the top right, and then click Account information.
